I didn't just loose a dog today, I lost a friend of over 13 years. We got Shelby back in 1997 when she was just 3 months old. She had numerous tumors on her body, she was really shaky, and had trouble getting up and walking. She has been 100% deaf for the last year, and she fell yesterday, ripping a toe nail and acquired a major infection overnight. It was just time. We had the vet come out and euthanize her on her favorite rolling spot in the yard next to the lemon tree by the horse paddocks. She went in my mom's arms with me and my sister by her side. My dad is away on business so he wasn't able to be with us, but my boyfriend was there and helped us make her a little grave in a shady spot by the lemon tree </3 This is only the second time I've lost a dog, the first being Kelsey back in 1997, a few months before we adopted Shelby. We knew it was coming, but it hadn't hit me until the vet pulled up. I've been a bit of a wreck today, crying on and off. I managed to take 120+ pictures of Shelby today and I wanted to show you guys my top 3 We gave her two double cheeseburgers from McDonalds before the vet came. She always loved getting little bites of those things snuck to her under the table. Figured, why not? "Mmmmm! Good cheeseburgers!" Enjoying the sun in her Chicago Bears sweater (it was a little chilly out). She was buried in it, she loved that thing <3 RIP Shelby, I love you.

Again, I'm sorry for your loss. Parting from someone you love, Even for a short time, can be painful. So I can't imagine how you must feel. *Pats back*
